This training will assist students in meeting their communication goals and enhancing your relationships with parents. It is based on three central ideas about communication in Head Start programs that effective communication is the cornerstone of the parent/staff partnership, whether formal or informal, effective communication should be respectful and clear, and to communicate well, one must consciously practice the skills involved. The course also will look at how your program plan for parent communication, at a personal and program levels. Students will learn best practices to handle home visits and family conferences as well as how to use non-confrontational ways to deal with angry parents or families. |
