ERSEA Management License  (45 units/36 weeks)

The ERSEA Management License (ML) program is designed for those responsible for training and implementation of ERSEA.  It provide students the tools and training necessary to meet training and staff understanding of the ERSEA requirements in the CFR Part 1302 of federal regulations regarding eligibility, recruitment, enrollment, selection and attendance for their program. Participants learn about determining community strength and needs, using the community assessments to determine program design options and methods of implementing ERSEA requirements at their program. This18 week course gives you access to practical tools, strategies, and techniques that will make your ERSEA trainings dynamic, engaging, and effective. We show you how to optimize your training environment and training programs to achieve outstanding ERSEA implementation and compliance results.

The Management License (ML) program is designed as a valid and reliable measure of the candidates understanding of the Head Start regulations.  Candidates enrolled in this License program acquire a skill set of the best practices and procedural methods for implementing Head Start regulations as well as training and conducting professional development processes of ERSEA. A Supervisor Credential (CS) is a Head Start professional who is responsible for collecting, reporting, managing, monitoring and professional development and training of ERSEA Management Services. 

The Management License (ML) program is designed for professionals who are responsible for ensuring the professional development of Head Start staff. Candidates enrolled in this program usually have 2 years or more experience administering Head Start training curriculum. The Credentialed Trainer program is designed to identify leading trainers who can deliver superior training events, conferences and seminars on Head Start standards. Candidates enrolled in this program will have a competitive edge in their career and will be a vital resource in today's Head Start training community. In addition to the national recognition, candidates are provided with a valuable set of resources to aid them in becoming some of the best trainers in the Head Start community. The Management License (ML) process usually takes about 18 weeks to complete and requires 45 credit units.

     Program Information

Program Length

All courses are twelve week in length, 45 credits unless specified otherwise. HS University students are Head Start working adults who can earn their certificate at their own pace and on their own schedule.  Most students attend part-time, and the normal time to complete this program is 36 weeks.

Please contact your advisor and student representative for an individual Professional Development Plan (Plans consist of a detailed program of study requirement and Proposal for Tuition payment).  Students must complete an application and pay application fee in order to receive Professional Development Plans of Study.
